Alnmouth Beach, Estuary and Coastal Walks

Alnmouth Beach is a broad stretch of golden sand, with dunes and views along the Northumberland coastline. The main beach is close to the village, with a seafront car park and easy access to the shore. The beach is popular for walking, picnics and family days out, although swimming is not recommended because of strong currents, particularly near the river mouth.

The River Aln meets the North Sea at the southern end of the village. Its tidal estuary attracts wading birds and other wildlife, while the surrounding dunes provide further walking routes. Visitors should avoid attempting to cross the river mouth on foot, even at low tide.
