Coastal Cottages and Beach Holidays in Weybourne

Weybourne is a traditional Norfolk village with flint cottages, quiet lanes and a shingle beach overlooking the North Sea. The village has a selection of coastal holiday homes, including cottages near the beach and properties with sea views. Visitors can enjoy walks along the cliffs towards Sheringham or explore the heathland and countryside surrounding the village. Weybourne is also within easy reach of several popular North Norfolk destinations, including Holt, Blakeney and Cromer.

Weybourne Beach and the North Norfolk Coast

Weybourne Beach is a long stretch of shingle backed by low cliffs to the east and open coastal countryside to the west. Unlike the sandy beaches at Sheringham and Cromer, Weybourne has a steeply sloping shoreline, with deep water close to the beach. This makes swimming potentially dangerous, although the beach is popular for fishing and coastal walks.

A pay-and-display car park on Beach Road provides access to the shore. The beach has no promenade or traditional seaside attractions, but there are shops and places to eat back in the village.

The Norfolk Coast Path passes through Weybourne, with a clifftop walk east towards Sheringham offering views along the coastline. Heading west, the landscape changes to shingle banks, salt marshes and open countryside towards Cley-next-the-Sea.

Sheringham is only a few miles away and has a sandy beach, independent shops, cafés and a traditional seafront. Visitors looking for a larger seaside town can explore our collection of Sheringham cottages near the beach.

The North Norfolk Railway, also known as the Poppy Line, has a station just outside the village. Heritage steam and diesel trains run between Sheringham and Holt, with Weybourne serving as an intermediate stop. The station has been restored in a traditional railway style and is a popular attraction for visitors.

Nearby, the Muckleburgh Military Collection houses tanks, artillery and other military vehicles on the site of a former army camp. Kelling Heath has woodland and heathland walking routes, while Sheringham Park offers landscaped gardens, woodland trails and coastal viewpoints.

The market town of Holt is a short drive inland and has independent shops, cafés and art galleries. Further along the coast, Blakeney and Morston are known for their salt marshes and seal-watching boat trips.
