Seasalter Cottages by the Sea

Choose from 8 self-catering holiday homes in Seasalter

Seasalter lies on the north Kent coast just west of Whitstable, with a long shoreline looking across the Thames Estuary. Our Seasalter cottages by the sea put you close to the beach, with Whitstable’s harbour, shops and restaurants only a short distance along the coast. This part of Kent is also well placed for walking, with coastal routes around Seasalter and towards Whitstable, while Canterbury and Faversham provide plenty of options for days away from the beach.

Whitstable and the North Kent Coast

Whitstable is around three miles from Seasalter and is the obvious place to head for a wider choice of shops, cafés and restaurants. The town is known for its working harbour and oyster fishing, while Harbour Street has independent shops and places to eat.

Whitstable Beach continues along the coast towards Tankerton, where the shoreline is backed by Tankerton Slopes and its rows of beach huts. The coastal route can be followed further towards Herne Bay if you want a longer walk beside the sea.

Walks and Places to Visit Near Seasalter

The Saxon Shore Way passes through this part of Kent and follows the historic coastline for 160 miles between Gravesend and Hastings. Sections around the north Kent coast pass marshes and important habitats for wading and migratory birds.

Away from the coast, Canterbury is within easy reach for Canterbury Cathedral and the historic city centre. Faversham lies to the west and has a long maritime history centred around Faversham Creek.

For a different route, the Crab and Winkle Way connects nearby Whitstable with Canterbury. The trail follows the route of the old railway between the two towns and passes through Blean Woods on its way to Canterbury.
