Thurlestone has several beaches within a relatively small stretch of coastline. Leasfoot Beach is a sheltered sandy beach beside Thurlestone Golf Club, while Thurlestone Sands lies further south towards South Milton. Both are within walking distance of the village.

Thurlestone Sands has sand, rocky sections and rock pools exposed as the tide goes out. Just offshore is Thurlestone Rock, the large natural stone arch that gives the village its name.

Continue south and you reach South Milton Sands, where there is parking, a café and toilets. The beach is also popular for swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking and exploring the rock pools at low tide.
