Explore Praa Sands Beach and the West Cornwall Coast

Praa Sands has one of the longest sandy beaches in West Cornwall, stretching for approximately a mile between two rocky headlands. The village offers beach cottages, coastal holiday homes and apartments overlooking Mount’s Bay, with many properties close to the shoreline. Its sandy beach, surf and nearby coastal walks make it popular for seaside holidays.

 

Praa Sands Beach, Surfing and Coastal Walks

Praa Sands Beach is backed by low dunes and has plenty of space for walking and beach activities. The beach is popular with surfers, with seasonal lifeguard cover and facilities including cafés, parking and toilets.

The South West Coast Path runs along the cliffs in both directions. Heading east, walkers can reach Rinsey Cove, a smaller sandy beach below the cliffs. Continuing along the coast leads towards Porthleven, a historic harbour town with waterfront restaurants, independent shops and a beach. Praa Sands Village and Nearby Attractions

Praa Sands is a small village with a beachfront pub, cafés and shops. Just inland is Pengersick Castle, a historic fortified house with a distinctive medieval tower.
