Sennen Cove is a small coastal village in West Cornwall, just north of Land’s End. Known for its long sandy beach, excellent surfing and traditional fishing harbour, it’s a popular destination for seaside holidays. The village has cafés, pubs, galleries and a surf school close to the waterfront. Explore Sennen Cove Beach and Cornwall’s Far West Coast

Sennen Cove has a mile-long sandy beach backed by dunes and cliffs, with views across Whitesand Bay. The village has traditional fishermen’s cottages, beach apartments and coastal holiday homes, some overlooking the sea. Its sandy shoreline, surf schools and nearby coastal walks make it a popular destination for beach holidays in West Cornwall.

 

Sennen Beach, Surfing and Coastal Walks

Sennen Beach is one of Cornwall’s best-known surfing beaches, with Atlantic waves, surf lessons and equipment hire available locally. Facilities include parking, toilets and cafés, with RNLI lifeguards providing seasonal cover.

At low tide, the sand extends north towards Gwynver Beach, a quieter stretch of coastline backed by steep cliffs. The South West Coast Path also runs south from Sennen Cove towards Land’s End, passing Mayon Cliff and offering views across the Atlantic.

 

Sennen Cove Harbour, Land’s End and Nearby Attractions

Sennen Cove has a small working fishing harbour, independent shops, galleries and places to eat. The village’s lifeboat station has a long history of maritime rescue along this exposed stretch of coastline.

Land’s End is just over a mile away by road, with coastal viewpoints and walking routes around Britain’s most south-westerly mainland point. Nearby attractions include the open-air Minack Theatre at Porthcurno and the historic mining landscape around St Just.
