Lincolnshire Cottages by the Sea

Choose from 36 self-catering holiday homes in Lincolnshire

Lincolnshire’s long east-facing coastline combines large sandy beaches with traditional seaside towns, dunes, saltmarsh and nature reserves. Skegness and Mablethorpe are the best-known resorts, while Sutton-on-Sea, Anderby Creek and other smaller coastal communities offer a quieter alternative. Our Lincolnshire cottages by the sea range from stays near busy resort beaches to properties along less developed stretches of the coast. Away from the main towns, you can walk sections of the England Coast Path, explore Gibraltar Point or spend the day on some of the county’s quieter beaches.

Sea View Cottages Along the Lincolnshire Coast

With a long coastline to choose from, holiday accommodation in Lincolnshire ranges from cottages in established seaside resorts to properties in smaller coastal communities. Some stays offer North Sea views, while others are located within easy reach of the shore.

This gives you a choice between being close to resort facilities and staying somewhere away from the busiest areas.

Skegness, Mablethorpe and the Smaller Coastal Villages

Skegness and Mablethorpe provide the greatest concentration of attractions and places to eat along the coast. Between and around the larger resorts are smaller places including Chapel St Leonards, Sutton-on-Sea and Anderby Creek, each with access to long stretches of sand.

The Lincolnshire Coastal Country Park covers part of this central coastline and includes beaches, nature reserves and walking routes. At Chapel Point, the North Sea Observatory has exhibitions about the local area as well as a café and views across the coast.

Walks, Wildlife and Lincolnshire’s Natural Coast

South of Skegness, Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve extends for around three miles towards the Wash. Its landscape includes dunes, saltmarsh, freshwater marsh, lagoons and shoreline, with several marked walking routes and a visitor centre. The reserve is particularly important for coastal and migratory birds.

The England Coast Path also provides a way to explore Lincolnshire on foot. The established Skegness to Mablethorpe section runs for around 16 miles, largely following the sea defences with occasional sections along the beach.
