Falmouth Beaches, Harbour and Coastal Walks

Gyllyngvase is Falmouth’s main sandy beach, with a café, toilets and summer lifeguard cover. Nearby Swanpool Beach is popular for watersports, while Castle Beach has rock pools exposed at low tide. Further south, Maenporth is another sandy beach with a café and parking.

Falmouth’s harbour is one of the town’s main attractions, with waterfront restaurants, boat trips and views across the Fal Estuary. The South West Coast Path follows the coastline past Pendennis Point and continues towards Swanpool and Maenporth.

Across the water, St Mawes has a sheltered harbour, beaches and traditional village streets. Regular passenger ferries connect the two destinations. If you’re considering a smaller coastal village, explore our collection of holiday cottages around St Mawes.
