Wonderful Whitby Escape
A well-styled home in the heart of historic Whitby, this property is an ideal retreat for a family or group of friends. A fantastic choice for visitors year-round, Whitby is well known for its long sandy beach and delicious seafood. The inspiration for Bram Stoker’s novel Count Dracula, the ruins of Whitby Abbey can be reached by climbing the 199 steps from the old town. Whitby Harbour is steeped in history, and visitors can see where British explorer Captain James Cook first worked as an apprentice before setting sail and discovering Australia. In addition to the town's fantastic mix of boutique shops, traditional stores, tea rooms and excellent restaurants, numerous festivals and fairs are held throughout the year. These include Whitby Folk Week, the Whitby Regatta, and the twice-yearly Whitby Goth Weekend.
Climbing two short flights of stairs, you pass through the wood-floored hallway into the beautiful living/dining area. Here, original wooden panelling adds a touch of grandeur to this comfortable room. Two sofas and two armchairs offer cosy places to relax with a Smart TV next to the feature fireplace. This floor also houses a gorgeous bathroom with a free-standing bath, perfect for soaking the legs after a day exploring this fascinating town.
While there is no outdoor space at this property, Whitby's sandy beach is within 1 mile of the property for bracing strolls and sunny seaside adventures. Parking is available in the public car parks within 250 metres of the building.
