An enchanting haven for a relaxing getaway, this detached, oak-framed house offers ample space for couples, friends or families to unwind. Tucked away in the village of Little Oakley, the property is less than half a mile from a friendly pub which serves food, and just a mile from a secluded, sandy beach where you'll spot all kinds of wildlife. The historic naval town of Harwich is just 2 miles away, its charming streets lined with independent shops and vibrant places to eat. It's also a departure point for seal-watching boat trips. Frinton-on-Sea (11.5 miles) is a traditional seaside resort with a sandy beach and colourful beach huts, while vibrant Colchester (19 miles) offers an array of attractions, from museums to markets, Roman ruins to excellent restaurants. The renowned Beth Chatto Gardens are just 12.5 miles away, while Clacton and its pier (13.5 miles) promise a fun family outing.

The timber-clad cottage is full of character and boasts lovely period-style features, including exposed brick walls and rugged timber beams. The furnishings are equally charming, blending comfort and a traditional ambience, with a background of soft, co-ordinated colours. Step into the welcoming lounge and sink into the comfortable seating, which is gathered around a Smart TV – offering easy entertainment for a quiet night at home. From here, stroll through the elegant dining room and into the impressive kitchen, with its range-style cooker, ceramic sink and fridge/freezer. This is just the place to cook up a storm before relaxing together as you enjoy your delicious creations. One of the two king-size bedrooms is on the ground floor, a beautiful space with a high ceiling, ample storage and direct access to the garden. Completing the ground floor is a useful shower room with WC. Head up to the first floor to find another handsome king-size bedroom and an impressive triple room with a king-size and a single bed, ideal for young families. These rooms share a first-floor bathroom with a shower over the bath.

Step down from the French doors in the kitchen and into the delightful garden, safely enclosed and furnished for al fresco dining. There's also a generous lawn where children can let off steam, and off-road parking for four cars.
