This large, contemporary house sits in the peaceful village of Tregurrian, above the golden sands of Watergate Bay on Cornwall’s north coast. Spread across two floors with a secluded garden, the property provides multi-generational families with a spacious coastal base for surfing, beach days, and long walks along the cliffs. Watergate Bay stretches for 2 miles, its cliff-lined shores bright with sea pinks and gorse, and is well known for its surfing – a surf school and a selection of beachside restaurants sit right on the sand. From neighbouring Porth Beach (2.5 miles), a coastal walk leads along the rugged promontory of Porth Island, where the remains of an Iron Age castle and a dramatic blowhole visible at mid tide reward exploration.

A generous entrance hall on the ground floor keeps surf kit and shoes out of the way. Two bedrooms sit on this level, one super-king-size zip-and-link bed that can set up as twin, and one with bunk beds, alongside a family bathroom with shower over the bath and a WC. A cloakroom with a WC sits off the hallway, and a utility room houses a washing machine and tumble dryer. Two staircases lead to the first floor. The large, light-filled living room has deep sofas, a wood burner, and a Smart TV with SkyTV, while sloping beamed ceilings with Velux windows add character. Full-width sliding glass doors open onto a Juliet balcony with sea views. The kitchen flows into a generous dining room centred on a large refectory table, with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors leading out to the decked area. A cinema room with sea views has a 50” wall-mounted TV with SkyTV and Blu-Ray, while a separate games room has a table tennis table. Six bedrooms are arranged across the first floor. Two have king-size beds and sea views, each with an en-suite bathroom with shower over the bath and a WC. Three more rooms have zip-and-link beds configurable as super-king-size or twin, two with en-suite shower rooms featuring large shower enclosures and a WC, and one with an en-suite bathroom with shower over the bath and a WC. A twin bedroom with two full-size single beds has an en-suite shower room with a large shower enclosure and a WC.

The fully enclosed garden has a large lawn and a generous decked area with furniture for al fresco dining, a fire pit BBQ. An outside surf shower is available for rinsing off after the beach. Private parking is available for six cars.
