Waverley House provides an ideal holiday location on the cobbled High Street, in the centre of the old fishing village of Staithes. The cottage is less than 100 meters from the sheltered harbour with its small sandy beach. Low tide reveals vast areas of rocky seabed which can be explored on foot and is great for crabbing and fossil hunting. Staithes is on the Cleveland Way and the coastal path is easily accessed, allowing walkers to enjoy stunning cliff top views. There is a range of cafes, pubs, shops and art galleries no more than a few minutes away, plus the Staithes Heritage Centre Museum with its exhibits and information on Captain Cook, who lived in the village as a young man. Away from the village, a short drive takes you to sandy beaches along the coast or into the stunning scenery of the North Yorkshire Moors.

This delightful mid-terraced Grade II listed cottage offers generous accommodation and an abundance of original character. A compact entrance vestibule leads into a spacious open-plan kitchen and dining area, an inviting hub for gathering with friends and family. The well-equipped kitchen features an electric oven, induction hob, microwave, two fridges, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. From the kitchen, stairs descend to a cosy lower-ground lounge, perfect for unwinding in front of the Smart TV. The first floor hosts two bedrooms, one double and one bunk room, alongside a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and a separate WC. A further staircase leads to the second floor, where the master bedroom boasts a king-sized bed, en-suite shower room with WC, and stunning sea views. Adding to the charm, the interior is adorned with original abstract artwork by the cottage owner, who also exhibits at the Staithes Gallery, an acclaimed contemporary space located just a few doors away.

There is a small, enclosed backyard and a bench outside the front door, but no other outside space. Luggage and shopping can be unloaded at the front door, but cars must be parked in one of the public or private car parks (Bank Top) at the top of the old village (about 500metres away) accessed via a steep hill.
