Out and About Broadstairs is a traditional seaside town with plenty to see and do – from the shops, restaurants and galleries, to the award winning main beach of Viking Bay which is just one of the local beaches that have been attracting visitors for generations. Charles Dickens was a regular visitor to Broadstairs and wrote David Copperfield whilst staying in what has been renamed Bleak House, look out for it on the cliff top above Viking Bay. Margate is a short drive away and is home to the Turner Contemporary art gallery, or take a half hour train ride to Canterbury and visit the famous Cathedral
