This large group beach house in Porthpean is a 19th century, grade 2 listed holiday home sleeping 21 in 12 bedrooms with direct beach access. This period house is pet friendly, retaining much of its period charm with traditional furnishings.
This seaside house featured in the 2013 Richard Curtis film, About Time and is an ideal base for exploring the many sandy beaches of St Austell Bay, the fishing port of Mevagissey and the pretty sailing town of Fowey.
From a level gated gravel drive with parking for six to eight cars the front door opens into the entrance porch with flagstone floor and part glazed doors into the panelled reception hall with a slate floored boot room and W.C. with hand basin.
The ground floor accommodation comprises; an impressive light drawing room with a stripped timber floor, open fire, Broadwood grand piano and sea views with French doors leading out to the garden and sea views. Next to this room, there is a cosy snug room television, timber floor and views across the garden. The carpeted office is a charming quiet room with a desk overlooking the garden to enjoy a bit of relaxation. The dining room has a large table to seat up to 20 guests with a library of books surrounding it.
There are two kitchens; the main kitchen off the main hall has all the usual appliances for your convenience as well as a table and chairs to seat up to 10 people, with a further small laundry just off the kitchen with 2 small steps leading to it. From the dining room, there is a rear hall which leads to the Blue Kitchen which is also a fully fitted kitchen and has seating for up to 8 people. Combined kitchen appliances across both kitchens comprise two fridge/freezers, two dishwashers, one washer/dryer plus an additional tumble dryer, two microwaves, 2 electric hobs and ovens.
Just beyond the second kitchen, there is a ground-floor twin bedroom with a television. A few steps lead up to a separate shower room W.C. with a basin. Also from the rear hall is a spacious games room; an additional light reception room with an ornamental fireplace, 50 inch TV, table football and sea views. French windows and a step lead out to a gravelled path and lawn to the front.
