Whether you're watching the other holiday makers from the shared terrace or you're looking over the Bude and North Cornwall Golf Club from the open-plan living area, you're never too far from the sea here. The interiors are light and airy with contemporary furnishings and splashes of colour; the kitchen and bedrooms embrace the blue tones of the ocean. There's no need to worry about getting muddy or sandy on your days out since there's a shared shower downstairs and even a doggy bath and grooming area if you've brought your canine companion along; spend the day surfing without having to worry about removing your wetsuit at the beach.

The Bude Sea Pool (1 mile) is well worth a dip to experience this tidal pool and the superb views that come with it. Compass Point, locally known as the Pepper Pot, is only 1.5 miles down the coast path and was originally built as a refuge for the coastguard. Kids will love the Milky Way Adventure Park up in Devon (16.5 miles) as well as the Hidden Valley Discovery Park (23 miles) with its maze and forbidden mansion.
