With two sandy beaches, a bustling fishing harbour and a selection of shops and eateries within a mile, all the ingredients for a relaxed coastal stay are at your fingertips. Hop on a wildlife boat trip to the Farne Islands from Seahouses harbour, or venture to nearby Bamburgh (3 miles) to explore its imposing castle. Further afield, step back in time with a visit to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne (20 miles).

This two-storey stone cottage has been lovingly renovated to blend rustic features with a relaxed, rural elegance. Leave coats and bags in the entrance hall and step into a contemporary kitchen with beautifully patterned floor and wall tiles. This opens into a characterful dining room where elegant seating frames the wood burner, an oval table seats six, and a TV provides background entertainment. A second lounge with a plush corner sofa, wood burner and Smart TV provides space for guests to spread out or gather together. A utility room and ground-floor shower room off the entrance hall offer a useful place to kick off muddy shoes or rinse off sandy toes. Three bedrooms welcome you upstairs. The master suite includes a king-size bed, a feature wall with patterned wallpaper and an en-suite, while a second king-size and a cosy twin room beneath the eaves share access to the family bathroom.

Outside, an unenclosed garden features a bench for enjoying a morning cuppa and a grassy garden for kids and dogs to play; neighbours have access to the path and driveway to access their bins. A gated area at the bottom of the garden has outdoor dining facilities and a BBQ for the exclusive use of guests. There's private parking for three cars.
