The larger town of Deal is only a mile away with its pretty conservation area, independent artisan shops and a great choice of good places to eat, plus the lovely pier for a stroll to enjoy the sea air. There is a mainline railway station both at Walmer and Deal with services to London and the Channel port of Dover. This area is great for coastal walks and popular for rowing and dinghy sailing, you can also still buy your fish straight from the beach at some of the old fishermen’s shacks.
