Within a short walk of the beaches at Duporth and Porthpean and half a mile from the famous 18th century harbour side village of Charlestown, a world heritage site, this former gate house to the Charles Rashleigh Estate at Duporth has been lovingly and sympathetically restored. The woodland walks from the lodge take you to a resident only private beach of Duporth so it will be relatively quiet and a perfect base for a beach day.
Duporth Lodge provides a comfortable family home furnished to a very high standard and has been awarded both a Visit England 4* Gold and Green Tourism Silver Awards with an installed type 2 electric car charging point and electricity energy supply.
The property retains many of the original features and is a great base to explore the many villages, attractions, walks and beaches the South Coast has to offer. Duporth Lodge is ideal too for an out-of-season stay for couples in need of some much-needed R&R with the adaptable property able to provide a cosy and comfortable base for two.
Charlestown is only a 3-minute drive with its restaurants, tea rooms, pub, and hotel and Shipwreck & Heritage Centre is the nearest village. The larger town of St Austell, 1.8 miles, has a good choice of supermarkets and shops, a railway station, a bowling alley, a cinema and 4 golf courses nearby.
Porthpean beach three-quarters of a mile has a sailing club and the fishing harbours of Fowey & Mevagissey are only 8 and 6 miles respectively. The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are within a 10 - 15 minute drive. Newquay Airport and the North Coast are within 30 minutes.
