Crantock, located on the western side of Newquay, is a charming Cornish coastal village that boasts a rich history and everything you could want for a perfect coastal holiday. With a stunning sandy beach, an array of eateries, and numerous coastal walks, there's something for everyone.
Take a stroll through the village to soak up the ambience and grab your daily necessities from the village shop. Indulge in local cuisine and drinks at the Old Albion Inn or spend the day at the National Trust beach, renowned for its vast expanse of golden sand and rolling dunes that are perfect for swimming, surfing, and paddle boarding. Lifeguard services are available from May to September. If you prefer to explore the area by foot, put on your walking boots and venture out onto the Southwest Coast path and surrounding areas.
Newquay, located just four miles to the east of Crantock, is a world-famous surfing destination with several cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, and a handful of attractions, such as an aquarium and zoo. The North Cornish coast boasts several beaches that are worth exploring, including Watergate Bay, Newquay, and the seven bays that run from Padstow to Mawgan Porth. Trerice, a National Trust house and garden, is a short four-mile drive away and is worth a visit. There are also golf courses in Newquay, Holywell Bay, and Constantine Bay.
