A cheerful two-bedroom cottage just 150 metres from Brixham's picturesque harbourfront, this holiday home is wonderful for a sunny seaside escape in South Devon. Brixham, a vibrant fishing port, is famous for its colourful cottages, delicious seafood and arty vibe. If you love boat trips, coastal walks and gallery-hopping, you're in luck! The property has space for four guests over two bedrooms so works well for families and small groups of friends.
Inside, the cottage has crisp white walls, deep blue accents and nautical-themed artwork to get you in the holiday mood. The comfy lounge has two sofas and a Smart TV, leading through to a bright kitchen-diner with twin butler sinks and a chunky farmhouse table for feasting together. When it's time to retire for the night, head upstairs to one of two bedrooms - the first is a lovely double bedroom with an en suite shower room and a window seat overlooking the harbour. The second bedroom is on the top floor; this one boasts a sea-view perch and is served by a bathroom nearby. Outside, around 10 metres from the front door is a raised decked garden with a table and chairs for four - a cosy, private spot for sunny breakfasts or evening drinks. While the narrow road in front is for loading only, you can purchase a parking permit for nearby car parks for added ease.
Everything you need is close by: stroll 300 metres to Brixham's lively fish market and grab some fresh seafood for dinner, or wander 0.5 miles to Breakwater Beach for a splash and a stroll. At Berry Head (1 mile), you'll find jaw-dropping cliffs, a charming café, the UK’s shortest lighthouse and a Napoleonic fort. Venture a little further to the River Dart area (4 miles) and visit Greenway, the former holiday home of Agatha Christie, or pack a picnic and head for Dartmoor National Park (15.5 miles) for wild walks, wooded trails and hopefully a glimpse of the famous Dartmoor ponies.
