For those who need to juggle work and holidays, there is a desk for home working and fast wi-fi. There is a well-equipped kitchen should you wish to cook or entertain. A good local butcher and fishmonger, as well as a selection of high-end delis, provide a great basis for any meal. There are many excellent restaurants and cosy pubs within a short stroll. At the end of the road, there is an award-winning micro-brewery; and the much-lauded Globe in the Marsh pub just a couple of minutes away. Rye has so many attractions to keep you entertained. Camber Sands is one of a number of beautiful beaches and is only 3 miles away. A picnic hamper, beach blankets and wind break mean that you are all set for a day on the white sands and dunes. For rainy days, the Rye Leisure centre is just around the corner and has a lovely indoor pool. The station nearby provides an easy trip into Old Hastings for the galleries and quirky shops, or over to Ashford for shopping at the large designer outlet centre. Out and About:

Rye is full of character and charm with its cobbled streets and ancient buildings, restaurants, pubs and a Kino cinema. The Rye Nature Reserve, which is on your doorstep, is perfect for walking and bird watching as over 90 species of birds nest here with 5 bird hides available. There are reed beds, a salt marsh and saline lagoons, protected rare plants and shingle flowers, grazing sheep and wonderful trails all waiting to be discovered. With three local vineyards within 10 miles, there is plenty for the bon vivant. There are many local walks in the beautiful countryside, no need to get in the car: within 400 yards you are into open countryside. Camber beach with it's famous stretch of sand is a 40 minute walk away, or a quick hop on the bus. With a large range of watersports on offer at the adjoining Rye Watersports centre, there is something for everyone. Winchelsea is less than an hour away to walk, or a short hop on the train; a lovely beach and a quaint village with lovely pubs. There are many National Trust properties nearby and also the famous gardens and historic house at Great Dixter.
