Embrace rural life in this delightful holiday home on a working farm in East Yorkshire. The cottage, which makes a romantic retreat or base for a small family, is just outside the village of Dunnington, 5 miles from the coast. The historic market town of Beverley is 15 miles away and is renowned for its fabulous Georgian architecture and magnificent Gothic minster. Spend time here, exploring the fine array of independent shops, before dining in one of the cosy pubs or restaurants. For keen walkers, you'll be within easy reach of the long-distance Yorkshire Wolds Way, as well as popular walking areas such as Bempton Cliffs and Flamborough Head (all within 20 miles). The coastal town of Hornsea (6.5 miles) makes a fun day out, with its long, sandy beach, promenade, and traditional seaside shops and arcades. Other nearby beaches include Fraisthorpe (8.5 miles) and Mappleton (9 miles).
The cottage is warm and inviting, with beautiful wooden furniture and a calming colour scheme throughout. Leave coats and boots in the hallway before moving through to the spacious lounge/kitchen/diner, which boasts gorgeous wooden floors and patio doors leading to the veranda. In one corner is a country-style kitchen for preparing hearty meals using local ingredients, which you can share at the table by the window. After a bite to eat, sink into one of the sofas to watch your favourite shows on the Smart TV. Upstairs, two peaceful bedrooms await. Choose from an attractive double bedroom or a cosy twin that can be made up as a super-king-size on request. Rounding off this level is the family bathroom. Please note, the first floor has sloping ceilings, and you may experience restricted head height in some areas.
Outside, bask in the sunshine on the enclosed, decked veranda as you sip a glass of wine and plan the following day's activities. You'll also have a BBQ for al fresco dining on a summer's evening. Guests are welcome to meet the resident horses and Hebridean Sheep. Private parking is available for two cars.
