A designated Irish Heritage Town, Youghal is rich in history with a unique Clock Gate Tower and preserved town walls, plus four beaches and one of Ireland's largest indoor funfair centres. Across the border in County Waterford, Ardmore (9 miles) is believed to be the oldest Christian settlement in Ireland; trace some of the village's history with a visit to its 12th-century round tower, cathedral ruins and St Declan's Oratory, or stretch your legs further on the 2.5-mile Ardmore Cliff Walk.
