Spend some time in Kirkwall. Enjoy our lovely local sites, shops and eateries. There are several outlets where you can buy local produce to enjoy. Don’t miss the chance to visit the magnificent St Magnus Cathedral, the Earls and Bishops Palaces and the Orkney Museum to learn about the island's fascinating past. Explore historic sites such as the ancient village of Skara Brae (22 miles), the standing stones of the Ring of Brodgar (17 miles) and the Broch of Gurness (12 miles). The dramatic Churchill Barriers (5 miles) and the beautifully decorated Italian Chapel (5.5 miles) are also must-sees. Take a day trip to Hoy, where the recently opened Scapa Flow Museum in Lyness offers a powerful glimpse into Orkney's wartime history. In Orkney, you are surrounded by beautiful beaches, and there are plenty of walking routes too. You can also spend a day at the Pickaquoy Leisure Centre, where you'll find a swimming pool, squash courts, gym, soft play for little ones, a cinema, and a full programme of classes and activities for all ages.

And at the end of a busy day, you can come home and relax in our peaceful cosy farm cottage.Inside, the lounge awaits for relaxing in the evenings, with a Smart TV for cosy movie nights or catching up on your favourite shows. At the heart of the home is the spacious, contemporary kitchen. Designed with both style and practicality in mind, it's fully equipped for preparing anything from hearty breakfasts to evening feasts. You'll find two inviting bedrooms – a king-size room and a light, airy twin – both thoughtfully furnished for a good night's sleep after days exploring the island. The modern shower room is a refreshing space to start or end your day.

Step outside, and you’ll find a large patio area with a garden bench to sip your morning coffee, soak up the fresh island air, and enjoy peaceful views of the surrounding countryside. There’s private parking for up to two cars, so arriving and settling in is a breeze.
