For a seaside holiday where you can enjoy the best of East Sussex's coast, towns and countryside, stay at this light-filled family beach home. It's conveniently located just 150 metres from the sought-after Pett Level Beach, so you can start each day with a waterside stroll. The Royal Military Canal and Saxon Shore Way pass right by the property, offering scenic walks for keen ramblers. For classic seaside fun, amusements and a dose of history, head to Hastings (6.5 miles), famous for its funicular railway, Smugglers Adventure caves, and castle ruins perched upon the clifftop. The same distance in the other direction takes you to Rye, a charming town bursting with independent shops, antique stores and cosy cafes. For more historical attractions, drive to the ruins of Bodiam Castle (15 miles) or explore the iconic Battle Abbey (10.5 miles), steeped in 1066 history.

On arrival, drop coats and shoes in the hallway or, if your shoes are muddy, enter via the boot room which has rear access. From the hallway, you'll descend a few steps to the dual-aspect lounge/diner, decorated in cheerful yellow. This sociable space features comfy sofas, a Smart TV and patio doors opening out to the garden – a real boon in good weather. Off the hall, the stylish and modern kitchen is kitted out for whipping up tasty family feasts, with a breakfast table for laid-back morning meals. Also on the ground floor is a generously sized double bedroom with an armchair and coffee table – a lovely retreat for older relatives – plus a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC.
