The picturesque village of Lynmouth below is connected by a famous cliff railway, and here you'll find a pretty harbour, more shops and places to eat, and a putting green overlooking the sea. From Lynmouth a 3.5-mile circular stroll takes you to the dramatic river gorge at Watersmeet, a National Trust area with spectacular scenery offering canoeing, fishing and walks of all kinds. The station for the Lynton & Barnstaple Steam Railway is only 3 miles, and the coastal resort of Ilfracombe just 19.5 miles. Lynton is also centrally placed between Minehead 18miles, Ilfracombe 20 miles and Woolacombe 22 miles.
