There are plenty of things to do in the local area. Take in the spectacular sights of the cliff railway, the highest and steepest water-powered railway in the world, travelling between the twin villages of Lynmouth and Lynton (200 metres). Stop by the Valley of the Rocks (2 miles), which boasts some of the highest cliffs in Great Britain, or explore the nearby Tarka Trail or South West Coast Path. Just over 20 miles away lies Ilfracombe, with its abundant eateries, shops and the thought-provoking Damien Hirst statue, ‘Verity’, perched atop the town’s pier.
