Set over two storeys, this semi-detached house is bright and pretty, and equipped with games, binoculars and even crabbing nets – the owners have tried to think of everything. On the ground floor is a lounge in which comfortable sofas and chairs are arranged around a TV, DVD and wood burner, plus a Shaker-style kitchen with a separate, open-plan dining area. Head up to the first floor and you'll find three bedrooms – a super-king-size, a twin and a single, all decorated with a coastal theme – sharing a lovely family bathroom. Step through the patio doors in the dining area and the back garden is just perfect: a lawn and well-kept flower beds, as well as a patio with dining furniture and a BBQ.

The cottage is situated on Church Farm, an award winning development at the northern end of Aldeburgh. Spend time in town strolling the wide high street with its Georgian buildings full of independent shops, galleries, cafes, pubs and restaurants, and then wander along the shingle beach, where you'll see not only fishing boats but also the famous Scallop sculpture, a 400 year old Moot Hall (now the town's museum, well worth a visit), a Martello tower, a converted windmill and a Norman church. For family days out, head for Easton Farm Park, 14 miles, Southwold Maize Maze, 15.5 miles and Africa Alive, 22.5 miles.
