You’ll be close to the heart of the Heritage Coast Line with its preserved mining ruins that stud the surrounding valleys, hills and cliff tops. Portreath is home to some cosy pubs, a brilliant beach favoured by surfers, swimmers and young families. With close access to both the South West Coast Path, and the Mineral Tramways Coast-to-Coast trail you certainly won’t be short of outdoor activities and places to explore. Portreath is a great base from which to discover the Duchy, as it’s close to the A30 and major road networks. The capital, Truro, with its cathedral and shops, is 12 miles away. St Agnes Head and mine ruins (5 miles), Perranporth which are both under 10 miles away. Further afield is The Eden Project (35 miles), and St Ives (17 miles) which are both worth a day trip too.
